Henry VI, Part 3 is a play by William Shakespeare probably written around 1591. It is part of a tetralogy with the first two parts of Henry VI and Richard III. The action of this historical drama covers the Wars of the Roses.

After the defeat and capture of King Henry VI, Richard Plantagenet's son is crowned King under the name of Edward IV. Warwick succeeds in getting Henry VI released by surprising Edward IV, but the new king once again has the military upper hand and finally triumphs over the opposing clan. Edward's brother, Richard, assassinates Henry VI who is locked up in the Tower of London, and begins to secretly dream of his own personal rise to the throne.
