Context

““He began to be sore amazed, and very heavy, and saith unto his disciples, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death:” and St Luke says: “And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Ah! our suffering is not worthy the name of suffering. When I consider my crosses, tribulations, and temptations, I shame myself almost to death, thinking what are they in comparison of the sufferings of my blessed Saviour Christ Jesus. And yet we must be conformable to the express image of the Son of God.” source
