Pericles, Prince of Tyre is a play written in part by William Shakespeare around 1607. The story takes place in Asia Minor and traces Pericles' adventures.

Pericles understands that the king of Antioch has an incestuous relationship with his daughter, and must flee to avoid being murdered. After a shipwreck, he arrives in Pentapolis where his victory in a tournament allows him to marry Thaisa, the king's daughter. Victims of a new shipwreck, Pericles and Thaisa are separated, each believing the other to be dead. Finally, Pericles succeeds in finding Thaisa, thanks to a dream in which the goddess Diana urges him to go to the temple where his wife retreated.
