“ The Government has given importance to the reform of politics through extensive public participation, but the ongoing problems of conflict and discord amongst the people of the Nation have affected the handling of the public services of the State and the reputation of the Nation as well. ”

“ Thus [the Government] finds it appropriate to dissolve the House of People's Representatives and organise a general election of new Members of the House of People's Representatives in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Thailand, in order to return the power of making political decisions to the people throughout the Country and allow the parliamentary administration under the democratic regime with a Monarch as Head [of State] to continue continuously ”
