They were recognized as “ the Seminole Nation,” and as one of the “ Five Civilized Tribes,” and granted autonomy upon the scale permitted the other four, the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw and Creek. They live now mainly in Oklahoma, and a few in Florida. ”
