The city is the seat of a Roman Catholic bishop, and of the Protestant Episcopal bishop of South Dakota. It has important jasper quarries, and manufactories of woolen and linen goods, boilers, brick, brooms, flour, soap, etc. The meat-packing industry is important. ”
