“ In 1616 the same man appears in the register as Jean Douargneau. It is said that it is the same surname that appeared in the register in 1600 as Honneneau. But passing from registrars to members of the family, the following are signatures in the Norwich Book of Discipline. An elder signed on 16th June 1590 as Jan de Honueingneu, and another office-bearer on 4th July 1615 as Jan Doueneaw. ”
