“ The poor innocent prince being curious to see what was therein, came to the brink of the well to look down there, and then Judas treacherous like, as he was, came behind him, and with all his might thrust him down headlong into the well, where he miserably ended his life. Now when the young prince was a-missing, great search was made for him through the island, but all in vain ; but some whispered it about that he was seen along with Judas on the day he was missing, and must needs know what is become of him. ”

“ Now it happened, that some fisher-men that belonged to the island of Iscariot were at sea a fishing, and they espied a boat at some distance from them a drift in the sea, and so made towards it, but as soon as the came on board and opened the cabin-door that was in the boat, found a young child crying in the craddle, very richly arrayed, like some nobleman or prince's fon. Now after taking some care for preserving the young babe's life, they made what haste they could for the island of Iscariot from whence they came. ”

“ Judas hearing the power of Jesus, and knowing himself to be a notorious sinner, as the worst of men sometimes may have good thoughts, when taken to be one of the apostles. Note, Our blessed Lord and Saviour knew what he was, and what he would be, there he was accepted, and there continued for a while, but it was no longer than he found an opportunity to betray our Saviour Christ, and he sold him for thirty pieces of silver. ”
