Zamakhsharī’s fame as a commentator rests upon his commentary on the Koran, called al-Kashshāf (“the Revealer”) . In spite of its Mo‛tazilite theology it was famous among scholars and was the basis of the widely-read commentary of Baidhāwi (q.v.) ”
