“ Monsieur le Comte, the Emperor orders you to start the 6th Corps, to make him take a position half-way from Charleroi to Fleurus, and that you should at the same time keep Charleroi, where you will provisionally appoint a commander. I ordered that all the prisoners, as well as all the wounded enemies and French, should be directed to Avesnes. ”
