He was born in Jersey City, and is a graduate of School No. 15 and Snyder High School. The soldier, with thoughts of the folks at home, cabled an order for a half dozen roses which his mother received at Christmas. Inducted into the army in May, 1943, Private Norton trained at Camp Campbell, Kentucky, going overseas in May 1944. Prior to induction, Private Norton was employed by the Lehigh Valley Railroad. ”
