“ The invention is so constructed that pressure may be applied to any lower portion of the abdomen. This is attained by the use of three separate and distinct lacings in the back, an insertion of elastic webbing along the full length of each side, a belt attachment fastened to the lower back lacing adapted to buckle on to an adjustable, detachable, abdominal support buttoned on to the front of the corset and a pad sewn to the inside of the corset at any particular spot to cover any swelling that may occur from any of the aforementioned complaints. ”

“ In all cases if considerable upward pressure is desired the detachable abdominal support is buckled to the belt, giving it an upward or lifting pressure, and thus affords the same Support as a separate abdominal support. ”

“ For instance, if it is desired to reduce the fullness in front, the detachable abdominal support is fastened to the top buttons, whereas if it is desired to support the lower portion of the abdomen, as frequently occurs in various cases, then it is attached to the lower buttons. ”
