The Late Rev. Edward Stuart (1877)
“ Stuart never forgot to express his sense of the courtesy and forbearance of his own diocesan. Mr. Stuart had been in failing health for some time, and shortly before his death he resigned his living, and by virtue of his right as patron, presented to the benefice the Rev. J. E. Vaux, who is, with the exception of Dr. Littledale, perhaps the most energetic of the literary members of the Ritualistic school. Mr. Vaux will, it is understood, continue to conduct the services at St. Mary's with the same ritual Mr. Stuart had adopted. ”
