Summary

Thomas Williams The Great Salvation — Proposition 6

The Holy Spirit is not a third part of a Triune God, but God's power, effluence and influence. It is said that "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power." Now, reader, we appeal to your common sense. If each -- God, Christ and the Holy Spirit -- were "God very God, co-equal and co-eternal, how could the first be said to anoint the second with the third in order to impart "power" from the first to the second through the third? If they were co-equal, the imparting of power from one to another would destroy the "co-equality".
