The detainee's name was listed on an undated letter that listed 68 probable al Qaida members incarcerated in Pakistan. The purpose of the document was to incite the people against the Pakistani government. d. Intent The detainee stated that he followed a fatwa to help the Taliban fight jihad. The detainee went to Afghanistan because of a fatwa issued over the internet. The detainee was a Taliban fighter from August to December 2001, and fought on the Bagram line near Kabul, Afghanistan for two weeks in October 2001.
