“ In general.—The Secretary shall, based upon the classifications and standardized methodologies and procedures developed by the Advisory Committee on Health Workforce Evaluation and Assessment under section 764 (b) — “ (1) collect data on the health workforce (as defined in section 764 (i) ) , disaggregated by field, discipline, and specialty, with respect to— “ (A) the supply (including retention) of health professionals relative to the demand for such professionals; “ (B) the diversity of health professionals (including with respect to race, ethnic background, and gender) ”
