Woman of the Century — Hannah E. Taylor (1893)
“ Music was her passion, and, possessing a fine voice, it was the wish of her parents that she should study music as a profession. She accepted a position as leading soprano in the First Baptist Church of Hartford, teaching music meanwhile. During all those years she was writing poems, but it is only of late years any of her compositions have been published. In 1874 she became the wife of George Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor reside in Pasadena, Cal., where for several years Mr. Taylor has been general secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association. ”
