“ After the peace with France, in 1814, he was appointed to the Oberon sloop, Captain James Murray; and in Oct. 1820, to the Satellite, Captain Armar Lowry Corry, fitting out for the East India station. His promotion to the rank of commander took place Oct. 5th, 1824; his next appointment was, Sept. 17th, 1828, to the Pelorus sloop, in which vessel he returned home from the Mediterranean, to be paid off, May 9th, 1830. ”
