“ This officer was made lieutenant in 1798; and promoted to the command of the Jalouse brig, April 29, 1802. On the 14th June, in the following year, he assisted at the capture of la Commode French national brig, and l’Inabordable schooner, each mounting 4 heavy guns. In the performance of this service, the master’s-mate of the Jalouse was badly wounded [1] . ”
