“ N.B. - Neuter nouns endending in अ make the Nominative in अं.
द्रष्टव्य - जिन नपुंसकलिङ्ग संज्ञाओ के अन्त मे 'अ' होता है उन्का कर्क्ता मे 'अं' हो जाता है|
Exercise 1 - अभ्यास १ 8. Write down the Nominative case of each of the following words both in Devanāgarí & English character.
८ निम्नलिखित शब्दों क कर्क्ता कारक का रूप लिखो :-
VOCABULARY 1 शब्दावली १ Lesson 2. पाठ २ 9. Some final consonants, in the fomration of the Nominative case, are changed thus :-
च् c or श् ś becomes क् k. न् n is dropped, and preceeding vower (if the word is not neuter) is lengthened.

“ The 1st case is that in which a noun appears when it denotes the subject spoken of in the sentence. This case is called the Subjective, or, more commonly, the Nominative case.
६. प्रथम कारक वह होता है जिसमें संज्ञा शब्द वाक्य में उक्त कर्क्ता का बोधक होता है| इस कारक को कर्तृप्रधान या अधिक प्रचिलित रूप् में होता हैं|
7. Words which, in the crude form, end in the vowels set down in the No.3,commonly make the Nominative by altering the terminations thus:- ७.
