“ Stat. Can. c. 56, s. 70 and subsequently by the seventieth section of chapter fifty-six of the Consolidated Statutes of Canada ; and whereas it is expedient that the operations of the said Savings Banks should be further continued for a limited time :
The said Acts continued Therefore, the said first cited Act shall continue and remain in force as regards the Savings Banks mentioned in the said seventieth section, until the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy, and from thence until the end of the next ensuing Session of the Parliament of Canada, and no longer. ”

“ An Act to encourage the establishment of and regulate Savings Banks in this Province, and whereas the time thereby fixed for the continuance and operation of such Savings Banks was extended for the period of five years, by an Act of the said Parliament passed in the Session thereof held in the fourteenth and fifteenth years of Her Majesty's reign, intituled :
