Proclamation on Appointment of Regent dated 18 September 1956
“ Whereas We desire to enter the monkhood this October 1956; whereas We find desirable to appoint a Regent pursuant to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand; and whereas We entertain an opinion that Queen Sirikit is capable of undertaking such duty;Now Know You That We, by virtue of section 17 of the Amendment to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, Buddhist Era 2475 (1932) , Buddhist Era 2494 (1954) , and with the approval of the House of Representatives, do hereby appoint Queen Sirkit as Regent during Our Monkhood. ”
