Joseph Henderson, one of the oldest, wealthiest, and most widely known pilots in the New York Sandy Hook service, died yesterday of peritonitis at his home in Brooklyn. Mr. Henderson was connected with pilot-boat America No. 1, and returned from a cruise on Monday last. He has been in the pilot service forty-five years, and was a Government pilot during the war. He leaves a widow ad three sons. He was worth $100,000. Henderson took the steamer Teutonic to sea on her first westward race across the Atlantic with the City of New York. ”
