“ Sōðlīce mannes Sunu ys ēac restedæges hlāfurd. [8]
9. Ðā sē Hǣlend þanun fōr, hē cōm intō hyra gesomnunge. [9]
10. Þā wæs þǣr ān man sē hæfde forscruncene hand. And hī āhsudon hyne þus cweðende, Ys hyt ālȳfed tō hǣlenne on restedagum? þæt hī wrēhton hyne. [10]
11. Hē sǣde him sōþlīce, Hwylc man ys of ēow þe hæbbe ān scēap, and gyf þæt āfylþ restedagum on pytt, hū ne nymþ hē þæt and hefþ hyt ūpp? [11]
12. Witodlīce micle mā mann ys scēape betera! witodlīce ys ālȳfed on restedagum wel tō dōnne. [12]
13. Đā cwæð hē tō þām menn, Āþene þīne hand. And hē hī āþenede ”
