Henrietta Brown, The Souvenir of Western Women (1905)
“ Kinney made a tour of the state and delivered before the students one of her most carefully prepared lectures. She also lectured before teachers' institutes. Christian Endeavor and Sunday school conventions, and other gatherings. In 1894 she was elected president of the Oregon Woman's Christian Temperance Union, in which capacity she served until one year before her death, when she was forced to resign on account of ill-health. Mrs. Kinney neglected no opportunity to advance the cause of righteousness. Whatever she could do to lift up humanity was done, more than a duty—a privilege. ”
