“ On return to my native city Philadelphia I made many pictures and taught Art and Art History in Philadelphia, New York, Brooklyn & Washington [.] I received honors at Chicago, Buffalo, Paris, St. Louis. Proctor Prize N.A.D. Temple Gold Medal Penns [ylvania] Acad [emy of] Fine Arts, Carnegie Institute. My pictures have hardly ever been photographed except by newspaper men when they have received medals, and I do not know where there are any. ”
