“ Bin Laden declared a jihad, or holy war, against the United States and its citizens, which he carried out through Al-Qaeda and its affiliated organizations. Al-Qaeda was designated by the Secretary of State as a foreign terrorist organization pursuant to Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act on October 8, 1999, and has remained so designated from that time until the time of this Indictment. ”

did knowingly and unlawfully possess a firearm, that is, a destructive device (explosive grenade) , not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. ”
