Obituary: Mr. J. S. O'Halloran (1920)

Joseph Sylvester O'Halloran, C.M.G., for 25 years secretary of the Royal Colonial Institute, has died at Cheltenham, at the age of 77. Mr. O'Halloran was born at Adelaide, and in 1859 entered the South Australian Audit Office. In 1859 he was appointed clerk to the Executive Council and Court of Appeals, and in 1870 became private secretary to Sir James Fergusson, Governor of South Australia. He was appointed assistant secretary of the Royal Colonial Institute in 1881 and became secretary in 1884.
