JOSEPHINE SPENCER. While in school and a member of a class literary society, she attracted attention by her contributions in poetry and prose to the manuscript paper issued periodically by the association. She was chosen editor of the paper. Thereafter occasional poems appeared in print over her name, and recently her contributions to magazines and the holiday editions of newspapers have been quite frequent. She has been the successful competitor in several poetic contests. In prose she is a pleasing and thoughtful writer.
