by John Marshall, Royal Naval Biography — Dobson… (1823)
“ Sir,– Lieutenant Dobson, of H.M.S. Larne, having been left by Captain Marryat in command of the H.C. armed transport Satellite, stationed at Pagoda Point, where he has been near five months, performing the most important and anxious duties in every respect as a valuable officer, I hope you will have the goodness to recommend him to the consideration of the Right Honorable the Governor-General in Council, as in a pecuniary point of view he has been a considerable sufferer by being at so great a distance from Rangoon, and taken from his own mess in the Larne. ”
