by Robert Barclay A Catechism and Confession of Faith… (1673)

Is there any Scripture speaks of the Light's being inward?
A. God who commanded the Light to shine out of Darkness, hath shin'd in our Hearts, to give the Light of the Knowledge of the Glory of God in the Face of Jesus Christ. But we have this Treasure in Earthen Vessels, that the Excellency of the Power may be of God and not of us [2 Cor. 4:6-7] .
Q. But seeing it is also called the Seed of the Kingdom, is the Kingdom of God also within?
A. The Kingdom of God comes not with Observation, neither shall they say, Lo here, or Lo there; for behold the Kingdom of God is within you.
