United States Army,  A short guide to Syria (1943)

“ YOUR UNIT has been ordered to Syria. Soon you will be standing on the shores of a sea or on a desert which has played a great part in world history.
You, an American soldier, are now one of the countless fighting men, over the past two thousand years, who have tramped across this neck of land connecting Europe and Asia. Alexander the Great, Caesar, Napoleon—all have struggled on this land for world dominion.

United States Army,  The Calling — Jennifer (2021)

“ Tourists used to drive by and throw candy at us. Once, on a school field trip, I missed the bus back—completely stranded—and a stranger went out of her way to help me get home. I remember thinking, "No matter what, there are always good people in the world." And when I returned to the U.S., I knew I had to be one of those good, helpful people. I just didn't know how.
One day at school, I came upon an Army recruiter, and told him about my goals. He took me through all their different careers, and that's when it hit me. The Army is an army of good people.

Like all the others Tito made the pilgrimage to Moscow - "Tito has a brilliant talent for army leadership. He has great personal courage combined with great charm, and the talents of an outstanding politician and stateman."
