DAISY—Following instructions on page 2, Illustration D, wind color around Winder, cut 1” long and weave center with White as in Ill. E, making 25 sts (2 rows) around. This forms a 12-petal flower with one lp in each petal. Make 73 Daisies.
BLOCK—In color, sc in one petal, * (ch 7, sc in next petal) 3 times, ch 9, sl st in last sc to form a p. Repeat from * 3 times. Cut 6” long, thread to a needle and fasten off on back.
2d BLOCK—Repeat as far as 2d corner. In place of corner 9-ch p, ch 4, sl st in 1 lp of center st of a corner p on 1st Block, ch 4, sl st back in last sc to complete joining p.

With Red make a chain 21⁄2” shorter than measurement, 2 sc in 2d st from hook, sc in each st to center of ch, hdc in next 4 sts, dc in each st to 4th st from end, hdc in 2 sts, 5 sc in end st. On other side of ch, hdc in 2 sts, dc in each st opposite dc on other side, hdc in 4 sts, sc in each st to end. In both lps, make 3 sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next and continue with 5 rows of sc around. Increase 3 times around toe in each row, with 2 sc between increases. (To increase, make 2 sc in 1 sc) . Increase 3 times around heel in each row, with 1 sc between increases.
