F. A. Simpkins or the Hutchinson Family Singers

Summary

F. A. Simpkins or the Hutchinson Family Singers Lincoln and Liberty (1860)

For the People are everywhere calling
For Lincoln and Liberty too.
Then up with our banner so glorious,
The star-spangled red-white-and-blue,
We'll fight till our flag is victorious,
For Lincoln and Liberty too!
Another version, sung by ex-Weaver Ronnie Gilbert, has the variant, and more extensive, lyrics stated below. It seems to be a partial amalgamation of the version above and a previous song sharing its melody, namely, The Liberty Ball (published by 1845 and attributed to "G.W.C.") , which another source attributes to Jessie Hutchinson - who died years prior to the Lincoln election.
