“ Rates Provided, That in no case shall more than fifty cents be exacted or received for the transportation of all produce, manufactures, merchandize and property, of every description, when the whole quantity transported at the same time for any one parson or copartnership, shall exceed one eighth of a ton, at such rate not exceeding four cents per ton per mile for tolls and transportation in either direction, as shall be regulated and fixed from time to time by the said company ”

“ Before proceeding to perform the duties of their office, the presidential electors who are present shall fill any vacancy in the office of elector, whether the vacancy is caused by absence or other reason. ”

“ Corporations owning turnpike may subscribe Provided always, that the dividends to which the said turnpike companies shall be entitled, in virtue of any subscription and payment as aforesaid, shall be applicable, in the first place, to put and keep their respective portions of said turnpike road in good and sufficient repair; and that the legislature may provide by law for retaining any such dividend, whea any part of the said road shall be out of repair, and for the application of so much of said dividend as shall be proper and necessary for the repair of such road ”

“ Benefits to be considered. provided also that the owner or owners of any property so binding on any street in said city, along which said branch railroad shall be constructed, shall have the right to require said railroad company to purchase and accept such property at its present tax assessment, upon waiver of till claim or claims for damage ”

“ Provided however, that a failure to hold an annual meeting of the stockholders for the purpose of electing directors or the failure to elect directors, during any one or more years shall not be held or taken, to make a forfeiture or to constitute an abandonment of this act of incorporation, but the directors chosen at any time, shall continue to hold and exercise the office until such time as a new election shall be made according to the provisions of this act. ”

“ Presidential electors shall be elected [at large by the voters of the entire State] UNDER THE PROCEDURE PROVIDED IN § 8–5A–01 OF THIS TITLE. (b) ⁠ (1) The names of the candidates for the office of presidential elector may not be printed on the ballot. (2) A vote for the candidates for President and Vice President of a political party shall be considered to be and counted as a vote for each of the presidential electors of the political party nominated in accordance with § 8–503 of this subtitle. ”

“ In case of disagreement, sheriff to summon jury of inquest. and before they act as such the sheriff shall administer to each of them an oath or affirmation, as the case may be, that he will justly and impartially value the damages which the owner or owners of said lands and materials will sustain by the use or occupation of the same, required by the company ”

“ Provided, nothing herein contained shall be construed to authorise the said company to take private property for their use, without the compensation agreed upon by the company and the owners thereof, or awarded by a jury, as hereinafter provided, being first paid or tendered to the party entitled to receive such compensation. Invested rights. ”

“ A non-American governmental edict may still be copyrighted outside the U.S. Similar to {{PD-in-USGov}}, the above U.S. Copyright Office Practice does not prevent U.S. states or localities from holding copyright abroad, depending on foreign copyright laws and regulations. ”

“ SEC. 20. And be it enacted, hat nothing in this act shall be construed as to authorise the said corporation to issue any note, scrip, device or other evidence of debt, to be used as a currency, and the Legislature hereby reserves the right to alter or amend or repeal this charter at its pleasure. ”
