David Whitmer,
An Address To Believers in the Book of Mormon
(1887)
“ What you have written to prove that Brother Joseph was not persuaded by Sydney Rigdon, does not prove anything, for Brother Joseph was persuaded and influenced by him during their first and intimate acquaintance in Ohio, at which time many errors were introduced into the Church of Christ through the direct influence of Sydney Rigdon. If you prefer to be blinded by the Herald in this matter, when God says that Brother Joseph was persuaded by men, I cannot help it. I have performed my duty to show you the errors in doctrine which you are in. ”
