“ Large Rosette—Commence with the colored wool; work 20 chain, make it round, and work 10 chain and 1 plain 16 times in the round loop. Join on the black wool, and work 12 chain and 1 plain 16 times, putting the needle in the same foundation chain as before, but at the back of the colored round; then, with the gold check, commence in a loop of the black round, work 5 chain and 1 plain in each black loop. Repeat, and fasten off. Take a small rosette and sew it into the centre of the large one; then attach it to the centre of the front, where the stitches were drawn together. ”
