1826-1902 The was August's second wife. His first wife died on the ship coming from Germany. There was an outbreak of smallpox on the ship. Therefore the first Mrs. Becker was buried at sea. It took about eleven weeks before they landed in the USA.
August and Caroline are buried at Pilgrims Rest Cemetary, 3110 W. Forest Home, Milwaukee, WI. Both August and Caroline were buried 11/2/1904. Even though Caroline died before him, she was reburied with him. The cemetery said that she was transferred to Lot 20, Block 2, Section 11, where they still remain. ”

“ The deceased was born February 18, 1864 in Germany, and as a boy, he came to this country in 1871, his folks located in Milwaukee. There he married Miss Pauline Teigs December 14, 1890. They celebrated their ruby wedding last December. In Milwaukee he was employed as a beef buyer for meat packers. The family in 1914 moved onto a farm near Boltonville. He leaves his widow and eight children, namely Mrs. Elmer Garbish of Parnell, Mrs. Albert Dettmann of Fredonia, Mrs. Arthur Groeschel of Boltonville, August Becker of the town of Scott, Mrs. ”
