“ So Jacob and his sons came into Egypt, to Joseph; and Pharao, king of Egypt, heard of it.είπαν δε Φαραώ παροικείν εν τη γη ήκομεν ου γαρ εστι νομή τοις κτήνεσι των παίδων σου ενίσχυσε γαρ ο λιμός εν γη Χαναάν νυν ουν κατοικήσομεν οι παίδές σου εν γη Γεσέμ 5And Pharao spoke to Joseph, saying, Thy father, and thy brethren, are come to thee.και είπε Φαραώ προς Ιωσήφ λέγων ο πατήρ σου και οι αδελφοί σου ήκασι προς σε 6Behold, the land of Egypt is before thee ”

“ Chapter 16 1And Sara the wife of Abram bore him no children; and she had an Egyptian maid, whose name was Agar.Σάρα δε η γυνή Άβραμ ουκ ́ετικτεν αυτώ ην δε αυτή παιδίσκη Αιγυπτία η όνομα Άγαρ 2And Sara said to Abram, Behold, the Lord has restrained me from bearing, go therefore in to my maid, that I may get children for myself through her. ”

“ Chapter 4 1And Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and brought forth Cain and said, I have gained a man through God.Αδάμ δε έγνω Εύαν την γυναίκα αυτού και συλλαβούσα έτεκε τον Καϊν και είπεν εκτησάμην άνθρωπον διά του θεού 2And she again bore his brother Abel. ”

“ Does he yet live?ηρώτησε δε αυτούς πως έχετε και είπεν αυτοίς ει υγιαίνει ο πατήρ υμών ο πρεσβύτης ον είπατε έτι ζη 28And they said, Thy servant our father is well; he is yet alive. And he said, Blessed be that man by God; —and they bowed, and did him reverence.οι δε είπαν υγιαίνει ο παις σου ο πατήρ ημών έτι ζη και είπεν ευλογητός ο άνθρωπος εκείνος τω θεώ και κύψαντες προσεκύνησαν αυτώ 29And Joseph lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, born of the same mother ”

“ But Rachel was beautiful in appearance, and exceedingly fair in countenance.οι δε οφθαλμοί Λείας ασθενείς Ραχήλ δε ην καλή τω είδει και ωραία τη όψει σφόδρα 18And Jacob loved Rachel, and said, I will serve thee seven years for thy younger daughter Rachel.ηγάπησε δε Ιακώβ την Ραχήλ και είπε δουλεύσω σοι επτά έτη περί Ραχήλ της θυγατρός σου της νεωτέρας 19And Laban said to him, It is better that I should give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man ”

“ I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years among thy sheep, and thou didst falsely rate my wages for ten lambs.ταύτά μοι είκοσιν έτη εγώ ειμι εν τη οικία σου εδούλευσά σοι δεκατέσσαρα έτη αντί των δύο θυγατέρων σου και εξ έτη εν τοις προβάτοις σου και παρελογίσω τον μισθόν μου δέκα αμνάσιν 42Unless I had the God of my father Abraam, and the fear of Isaac, now thou wouldest have sent me away empty ”

“ Chobor, and Melchiil.υιοί δε Ασήρ Ιεμνά Ιεσσουά και Ιεούλ και Βαρία και Σαρά αδελφή αυτών υιοί δε Βαρία Χοβώρ και Μελχιήλ 18These are the sons of Zelpha, which Laban gave to his daughter Lea, who bore these to Jacob, sixteen souls.ούτοι υιοί Ζελφάς ην έδωκε Λάβαν Λεία τη θυγατρί αυτού η έτεκε τούτους τω Ιακώβ δεκαέξ ψυχάς 19And the sons of Rachel, the wife of Jacob; Joseph, and Benjamin.υιοί δε Ραχήλ γυναικός Ιακώβ Ιωσήφ και Βενιαμίν 20And there were sons born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Aseneth, the daughter of Petephres, priest of Heliopolis, bore to him, even Manasses and Ephraim. ”

“ Noe was a just man; being perfect in his generation, Noe was well-pleasing to God.αύται δε αι γενέσεις Νώε Νώε άνθρωπος δίκαιος τέλειος ων εν τη γενεά αυτού τω θεώ ευηρέστησε Νώε 10And Noe begot three sons, Sem, Cham, Japheth.εγέννησε δε Νώε τρεις υιούς τον Σημ τον Χαμ τον Ιάφεθ 11But the earth was corrupted before God, and the earth was filled with iniquity.εφθάρη δε η γη εναντίον του θεού και επλήσθη η γη αδικίας 12And the Lord God saw the earth, and it was corrupted ”

“ Eliphas, the son of Ada, the wife of Esau; and Raguel, the son of Basemath, wife of Esau.και ταύτα το ονόματα των υιών Ησαύ Ελιφάς υιός Αδά γυναικός Ησαύ και Ραγουήλ υιός Βασεμάθ γυναικός Ησαύ 11And the sons of Eliphas were Thaeman, Omar, Sophar, Gothom, and Kenez.εγένοντο δε Ελιφάς υιοί Θεμάν Ωμάρ Σωφάρ Γοθόμ και Καίνεζ 12And Thamna was a concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau; and she bore Amalec to Eliphas. These are the sons of Ada, the wife of Esau.Θαμνά δε ην παλλακή Ελιφάς του υιόυ Ησαύ και έτεκε τω Ελιφάς τον Αμαλήκ ούτοι υιοί Αδά γυναικός Ησαύ 13And these are the sons of Raguel ”

“ And Joseph was seventeen years old, feeding the sheep of his father with his brethren, being young; with the sons of Balla, and with the sons of Zelpha, the wives of his father; and Joseph brought to Israel their father their evil reproach.κατώκει δε Ιακώβ εν τη γη ου παρώκησεν ο πατήρ αυτού εν γη Χαναάν 2And Jacob loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was to him the son of old age ”

“ And the sons of Rhegma, Saba, and Dadan.υιοί δε Χους Σαβά και Ευειλά και Σαβαθά και Ρεγμά και Σαβαθακά υιοί δε Ρεγμά Σέβα και Δαδάν 8And Chus begot Nebrod: he began to be a giant upon the earth.Χους δε εγέννησε τον Νεμβρώδ ούτος ήρξατο είναι γίγας επί της γης 9He was a giant hunter before the Lord God ”

“ At this time I will return to thee seasonably, and Sarrha shall have a son.μη αδυνατήσει παρά κυρίω ρήμα εις τον καιρόν τούτον εις ώρας αναστρέψω προς σε και έσται τη Σάρρα υιός 15But Sarrha denied, saying, I did not laugh, for she was afraid. And he said to her, Nay, but thou didst laugh.ηρνήσατο δε Σάρρα λέγουσα ουκ εγέλασα εφοβήθη γαρ και είπεν αυτή ουχι αλλ ́ εγέλασας 16And the men having risen up from thence looked towards Sodom and Gomorrha. ”

“ Er, and Aunan, and Selom, and Phares, and Zara: and Er and Aunan died in the land of Chanaan.υιοί δε Ιούδα Ηρ και Αυνάν και Σηλών και Φαρές και Ζαρά απεθανον δε Ηρ και Αυνάν εν γη Χαναάν εγένοντο δε υιοί Φαρές Εσρών και Ιεμουήλ 13And the sons of Phares were Esron, and Jemuel. ”

“ I sent this kid, but thou hast not found her.είπε δε Ιούδας εχέτω αυτά αλλ ́ά μή καταγελασθώμεν εγώ μεν απέσταλκα τον έριφον τούτον συ δε ουχ εύρηκας 24And it came to pass after three months, that it was told Judas, saying, Thamar thy daughter-in-law has grievously played the harlot, and behold she is with child by whoredom ”

“ Chapter 11 1And all the earth was one lip, and there was one language to all.και ην πάσα η γη χείλος εν και φωνή μία πάσι 2And it came to pass as they moved from the east, they found a plain in the land of Senaar, and they dwelt there.και εγένετο εν τω κινήσαι αυτούς από ανατολών εύρον πεδίον εν γη Σενναάρ και κατώκησαν εκεί 3And a man said to his neighbour, Come, let us make bricks and bake them with fire. ”

“ The Lord judge between me and thee.είπε δε Σάρα προς Άβραμ αδικούμαι εκ σου εγώ δέδωκα την παιδίσκην μου εις τον κόλπον σου ιδούσα δε ότι εν γαστρί έχει ητιμάσθην εναντίον αυτής κρίναι ο θεός αναμέσον εμού και σου 6And Abram said to Sara, Behold thy handmaid is in thy hands, use her as it may seem good to thee. ”

“ Ephraim and Manasse, as Ruben and Symeon they shall be mine.νυν ουν οι δύο υιοί σου οι γενόμενοί σοι εν γη Αιγύπτω προ του με ελθείν προς σε εις Αίγυπτον εμοί εισιν Εφραίμ και Μανασσή ως Ρουβήν και Συμεών έσονταί μοι 6And the children which thou shalt beget hereafter, shall be in the name of their brethren ”

“ I have given it thee before all my country men; bury thy dead.παρ ́ εμοί γενού κύριε και άκουσόν μου τον άγρον και το σπήλαιον το εν αυτώ σοι δίδωμι εναντίον πάντων των πολιτών μου δέδωκά σοι θάψον τον νεκρόν σου 12And Abraam did obeisance before the people of the land.και προσεκύνησεν Αβραάμ εναντίον του λαού της γης 13And he said in the ears of Ephron before the people of the land, Since thou art on my side, hear me ”

“ I made good of myself the thefts of the day, and the thefts of the night.θηριάλωτον ουκ ενήνοχά σοι εγώ απετίννυον παρ ́ εμαυτού κλέμματα ημέρας και κλέμματα νυκτός 40I was parched with heat by day, and chilled with frost by night, and my sleep departed from my eyes.εγενόμην της ημέρας συγκαιόμενος τω καύματι και τω παγετώ της νυκτός και αφίστατο ο ύπνος μου από των οφθαλμών μου 41These twenty years have I been in thy house ”

“ Chapter 15 1And after these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I shield thee, thy reward shall be very great.μετα δε τα ρήματα ταύτα εγενήθη ρήμα κυρίου προς Άβραμ εν οράματι λέγων μη φοβού Άβραμ εγώ υπερασπίζω σου ο μισθός σου πολύς έσται σφόδρα 2And Abram said, Master and Lord, what wilt thou give me? ”

“ And Isaac was forty years old when he took to wife Rebecca, daughter of Bathuel the Syrian, out of Syrian Mesopotamia, sister of Laban the Syrian.Αβραάμ εγέννησε τον Ισαάκ ην δε Ισαάκ ετών τεσσαράκοντα ότε έλαβε την Ρεβέκκαν θυγατέρα Βαθουήλ του Σύρου εαυτώ εις γυναίκα 21And Isaac prayed the Lord concerning Rebecca his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord heard him, and his wife Rebecca conceived in her womb.εδέετο δε Ισαάκ κυρίου περί Ρεβέκκας της γυναικός αυτού ότι στείρα ην εισήκουσε δε αυτού ο θεός και συνέλαβεν εν γαστρί Ρεβέκκα η γυνή αυτού 22And the babes leaped within her ”

“ This is the father of the Moabites to this present day.και έτεκεν η πρεσβυτέρα υιόν και εκάλεσε το όνομα αυτού Μωάβ λέγουσα εκ του πατρός μου ούτος πατήρ Μωαβιτών έως της σήμερον ημέρας 38And the younger also bore a son, and called his name Amman, saying, The son of my family. ”

“ And, behold, seven ears came up on one stalk, choice and good.και ενυπνιάσθη το δεύτερον και ιδού επτά στάχυες ανέβαινον εν τω πυθμένι ενί εκλεκτοί και καλοί 6And, behold, seven ears thin and blasted with the wind, grew up after them.και ιδού επτά στάχυες λεπτοί και ανεμόφθοροι ανεφύοντο μετ ́ αυτούς 7And the seven thin ears and blasted with the wind devoured the seven choice and full ears ”

“ And he said, Behold, I am here.και εκάλεσεν αυτόν άγγελος κυρίου εκ του ουρανού και είπεν Αβραάμ Αβραάμ ο δε είπεν ιδού εγώ 12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the child, neither do anything to him, for now I know that thou fearest God, and for my sake thou hast not spared thy beloved son.και είπε μη επιβάλης την χείρά σου επί το παιδάριον μηδέ ποιήσης αυτώ μηδέν νυν γαρ έγνων ότι φοβή συ τον θεόν και ουκ εφείσω του υιόυ σου του αγαπητού δι ́ εμέ 13And Abraam lifted up his eyes and beheld, and lo! a ram caught by his horns in a plant of Sabec ”

“ And he recognised it, and said, It is my son's coat, an evil wild beast has devoured him; a wild beast has carried off Joseph.λαβόντες δε τον χιτώνα του Ιωσήφ έσφαξαν έριφον αιγών και εμόλυναν τον χιτώνα τω αίματι 32And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth on his loins, and mourned for his son many days.και απέστειλαν τον χιτώνα τον ποικίλον και εισήνεγκαν τω πατρί αυτών και είπον τούτον εύρομεν επίγνωθι ει χιτών του υιόυ σου εστίν η ου 33And all his sons and his daughters gathered themselves together, and came to comfort him ”

“ And Jacob was silent until they came.Ιακώβ δε ήκουσεν ότι εμίανεν ο υιός Εμμώρ Δίναν την θυγατέρα αυτού οι δε υιοί αυτού ήσαν μετά των κτηνών αυτού εν τω πεδίω παρεσιώπησε δε Ιακώβ έως του ελθείν αυτούς 6And Emmor the father of Sychem went forth to Jacob, to speak to him.εξήλθε δε Εμμώρ ο πατήρ Συχέμ προς Ιακώβ λαλήσαι αυτώ 7And the sons of Jacob came from the plain ”

“ And he said, Why so? it is enough that I have found favour before thee, my lord.είπε δε Ησαύ καταλείψω μετά σου από του λαού του μετ ́ εμού ο δε είπεν ινατί τούτο ικανόν ότι εύρον χάριν εναντίον σου κύριε 16And Esau returned on that day on his journey to Seir.απέστρεψε δε Ησαύ εν τη ημέρα εκείνη εις την οδόν αυτού εις Σηείρ 17And Jacob departs to his tents; and he made for himself there habitations, and for his cattle he made booths ”

“ Chapter 18 1And God appeared to him by the oak of Mambre, as he sat by the door of his tent at noon.ώφθη δε αυτώ ο θεός προς τη δρυϊ τη Μαμβρή καθημένου αυτού επί της θύρας της σκηνής αυτού μεσημβρίας 2And he lifted up his eyes and beheld, and lo! three men stood before him ”
