“ If one stole pieces of wood and made a sukkah with them, even if they did not attach them or alter them at all, they have fulfilled their obligation. The Sages ordained that the person from whom the wood was stolen is owed only its value. However, if someone stole a sukkah that was built on top of a ship or on top of a wagon and dwells in it, they have not fulfilled their obligation. ”

“ If one overpowered their fellow, removed them from the sukkah, stole it, and dwelled in it, they fulfill their obligation, since land cannot be stolen. Rem"a: Preferably, though, one should not sit in their friend's sukkah without permission, all the more so with the intent to steal it. Similarly, we do not preferably make a sukkah on someone else's property without their permission ”
