“ The patrol had no communication with the main body, so whenthe motorcyclists finally detected the ambush, they were unable toimmediately contact them. Consequently, two of the three trucks werein the kill zone by the time the motorcyclists opened fire. Still, therewas enough spacing between trucks which prevented the entire forcefrom being in the kill zone simultaneously. The Mujahideen showed aggressive spirit and resolve by immediate-ly assaulting the ambushers and driving them from the scene. The DRAcontrolled the dominant terrain and had the opportunity to preparefighting positions. ”
