“ Kate Greenaway's 'Book of Games,' (1889) ; 'The Royal Progress of King Pepito,' by Beatrice F. Cresswell (1889) ; and the 'April Baby's Book of Tunes,' by the author of 'Elizabeth and her German Garden' (the Countess von Arnim) (1900) . “ From 1858 to 1888 he held a post in the ecclesiastical commissioners' office, retiring at the age of sixty. A competent and conscientious official, he was known to his friends as an accomplished poet and man of letters. His first volume, entitled ‘Benoni,’ was issued in 1852.
