It swayed to and fro in the gusts of wind. “Halloa!” I cried, in astonishment, “what is this?” “Our favourite chariot,” answered Mrs. Kruse, with a laugh. “Wait a moment, Paul, won't you? I want to show our balloon to Mr. Gilchrist. Is it not a beauty?” she added, looking in my face. “I do not see any car,” I replied. “The car happens to be out of order. You do not know, perhaps, Mr. Gilchrist, that I am an accomplished aeronaut. ”
