And this person contradicts within his people and claims a false thing, and has no credence; hence at the time they come for judgment it is the aspect of blemish of emunah. And it is necessary to repair and clarify the emunah, and clarify who it is that the truth is with. But! it is impossible for flesh and blood to know who the truth is with. For the falsehood covers over the truth, for it is hard to discern between the one who is claiming truth and the one who is claiming falsehood; and what can the judge do to bring the judgement out to its truth?

For Torah study, which is from the lips outward, definitely cannot illumine the world. And halevai — if only it would be! — that you do not spoil in the aspect of, "He who doesn't merit it, it becomes a deathly drug for him." As we have found very many who were big learners who then spoiled afterward a great deal, as our Rabbis obm said about Doeg, Achitofel and Acher, that their Torah was from the lips outward.
