The Book of Ayub, known in the west as Job
“ I said, Days shall speak, and multiplied years will teach wisdom ; surely there is spirit in man, and the breath of Shaddai instructs them ; the multitudes will not be wise, but the grey-headed will discern judgment. 6. Wherefore I say, Listen to me ; I will pronounce what I see, even I. I have waited for your words, and bent my ears to catch your wisdom while you sought for utterance. 7. Yea, I saw your meaning, and lo, there is none to confute Ayub, or who answered his words, among you. You surely will not say : We have achieved wisdom ; God, not man, has overthrown him ! ”
