William Henry Holcombe,
The Other Life
(1871)
“ He has no time, no space, no limitations, no progressions from one place to another, from one age to another, from one state of thought and affection to another, from one life to another. His infinite love and wisdom, being above times and spaces and phenomena, have an infinite projection or extension. He therefore pervades every sphere without a horizon in any. He is therefore omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent. The universe exists only by reason of its imperfection. It may grow more and more perfect for ever, but the absolutely perfect is unattainable, because it is the divine. ”
