Albert Lee,  The call of the night rider (1916)

“ Roye, too, sat playing absent-mindedly with his bread.
"Nay, you must stay here to-day, if anything is to be done to help William Tyndale," the ranger cried, tossing down his knife and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, while he shifted back his stool to cross his knee.
"How can we help Master Tyndale?" Roye asked gloomily.
"I'll tell you before the day is gone; but the thing wants a deal of consideration. If you care to stay, you are more than welcome, and, what is more to the point, your assistance will be valuable.

duc de Louis de Rouvroy Saint-Simon,  Memoirs of Louis XIV and His Court and of the Regency…

“ A marriage took place at this time between the son of Pontchartrain and the daughter of the Comte de Roye. The Comte de Roye was a Huguenot, and, at the revocation of the edict of Nantes, had taken refuge, with his wife, in Denmark, where he had been made grand marshal and commander of all the troops. One day, as the Comte de Roye was dining with his wife and daughter at the King’s table, the Comtesse de Roye asked her daughter if she did not think the Queen of Denmark and Madame Panache resembled each other like two drops of water? ”

“ Henry Savile wrote from Whitehall, April 1686, “The Countess de Roye is come, but it is decided against her that the Queen shall not salute her, which you may suppose is no great affliction to the Lady above-mentioned.” This interesting question could not rest, as we find from the Ellis correspondence; a letter, dated London 23d July 1687, reports, “The reason why the Comte de Roye is made an Irish Baron was, that his lady might, with the less difficulty, it is supposed, wait on the Queen’s Majesty, and have the honour to be saluted by her, which otherwise she could not have pretended to.” ”
