Frank Coffee Forty Years On The Pacific — Honolulu and Hawaii (1920)

Hawaiians, as all of us know, are very superstitious and appealed to their Princess Ruth, the last of the Kamehameha dynasty, to use her influence with the gods to stop Mauna Loa's evil. Heeding her people's outcry, without delay she summoned her retinue of servants and proceeded to Hilo, taking with her a white pig.
