“ Moab is put to shame, and become a laughing-stock, and an object of anger to all that are round about him.και εξελεύσεται η διαμέτρησις αυτής απέναντι αυτής έως βουνών Γαρείβ και περικυκλωθήσεται κύκλω εξ εκλεκτών λίθων 40For thus said the Lord;και πάσαν φάραγγα Φαγαρίμ και σποδού και πάσαν Ασαρημώθ έως χειμάρρου Κεδρών έως γωνίας πύλης ίππων ανατολής αγίασμα τω κυρίω και ουκέτι εκτίλη και ου καθαιρεθή έως του αιώνος 41Carioth is taken, and the strong-holds have been taken together. 42And Moab shall perish from being a multitude, because he has magnified himself against the Lord. ”

“ Chapter 21 1THE WORD THAT CAME FROM THE LORD TO JEREMIAS, WHEN KING SEDEKIAS SENT TO HIM PASCHOR THE SON OF MELCHIAS, AND SOPHONIAS SON OF BASAEAS, THE PRIEST, SAYING,ο λόγος ο γενόμενος παρά κυρίου προς Ιερεμίαν ότε απέστειλε προς αυτόν ο βασιλεύς Σεδεκίας τον Πασχόρ υιόν Μελχίου και τον Σοφονίαν υιόν Μαασαίου τον ιερέα λέγων 2Enquire of the Lord for us; for the king of Babylon has risen up against us ”

“ Chapter 3 1If a man put away his wife, and she depart from him, and become another man's, shall she return to him any more at all? shall not that woman be utterly defiled? ye thou hast gone a-whoring with many shepherds, and hast returned to me, saith the Lord.εάν εξαποστείλη ανήρ την γυναίκα αυτού και απέλθη απ ́ αυτού και γένηται ανδρί ετέρω μη ανακάμπτουσα ανακάμψει προς αυτόν έτι ου μιαινομένη μιανθήσεται η γυνή εκείνη και συ εξεπόρνευσας εν ποιμέσι πολλοίς και ανέκαμπτες προς με λέγει κύριος 2Lift up thine eyes to look straight forward, and see where thou hast not been utterly defiled. ”

“ I am become as a broken-down man, and as a man overcome with wine, because of the Lord, and because of the excellence of his glory.εν τοις προφήταις συνετρίβη η καρδία μου εν εμοί εσαλεύθη πάντα τα οστά μου εγενήθην ως ανήρ συντετριμμένος και ως άνθρωπος συνεχόμενος από οίνου από προσώπου κυρίου και από προσώπου ευπρεπείας δόξης αυτού 10For because of these things the land mourns; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up ”

“ Why is it that the way of ungodly men prospers? that all that deal very treacherously are flourishing?δίκαιος ει κύριε ότι απολογήσομαι προς σε πλην κρίματα λαλήσω προς σε τι ότι οδός ασεβών ευοδούται ευθηνήσαν πάντες οι αθετούντες αθετήματα 2Thou hast planted them, and they have taken root; they have begotten children, and become fruitful; thou art near to their mouth, and far from their reins.εφύτευσας αυτούς και ερριζώθησαν ετεκνοποίησαν και εποίησαν καρπόν εγγύς ει συ του στόματος αυτών και πόρρω από των νεφρών αυτών 3But thou, Lord, knowest me ”

“ Judge judgment in the morning, and act rightly, and rescue the spoiled one from the hand of him that wrongs him, lest mine anger be kindled like fire, and it burn, and there be none to quench it.οίκος Δαυίδ τάδε λέγει κύριος κρίνατε τοπρωϊ κρίμα και κατευθύνατε και εξελέσθε διηρπασμένον εκ χειρός αδικούντος αυτόν όπως μη αναφθή ως πυρ η οργή μου και καυθήσεται και ουκ έσται ο σβέσων 13Behold, I am against thee that dwellest in the valley of Sor; in the plain country, even against them that say, Who shall alarm us? ”

“ Chapter 33 1IN THE BEGINNING OF THE REIGN OF KING JOAKIM SON OF JOSIAS THERE CAME THIS WORD FROM THE LORD.και εγένετο λόγος κυρίου προς Ιερεμίαν δεύτερον και αυτός ην έτι δεδεμένος εν τη αυλή της φυλακής λέγων 2Thus said the Lord; Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and thou shalt declare to all the Jews, and to all that come to worship in the house of the Lord, all the words which I commanded thee to speak to them ”

“ Rachel would not cease weeping for her children, because they are not.και είπεν Ιερεμίας τω βασιλεί εάν αναγγείλω σοι ουχί θανάτω με θανατώσεις και εάν συμβουλεύσω σοι ου ακούσης μου 16Thus saith the Lord; Let thy voice cease from weeping, and thine eyes from thy tears: for their is a reward for thy works ”

“ Daebon shall be broken, because Moab is destroyed: there has gone up against thee one to ravage thy strong-hold.ακούων ήκουσα Εφραϊμ οδυρομένου επαίδευσάς με και επαιδεύθην εγώ ώσπερ μόσχος ουκ εδιδάχθην επίστρεψόν με και επιστρέψω ότι συ κύριος ο θεός μου 19Stand by the way, and look, thou that dwellest in Arer; and ask him that is fleeing, and him that escapes, and say, What has happened?ότι ύστερον αιχμαλωσίας μου μετενόησα και ύστερον του γνώναί με εστέναξα εφ ́ ημέρας αισχύνης και υπέδειξά σε ότι έλαβον ονειδισμόν εκ νεότητός μου 20Moab is put to shame, because he is broken: howl and cry ”

“ Behold, I will send, and will bring Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and he shall place his throne upon these stones which thou hast hidden, and he shall lift up weapons against them.και έσται η Χαλδαία εις προνομήν πάντες οι προνομεύοντες αυτήν εμπλησθήσονται λέγει κύριος 11And he shall enter in, and smite the land of Egypt, delivering some for death to death ”

“ If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my statutes which I set before you,ότι ούτως είπε κύριος ο θεός Ισραήλ περί οίκων της πόλεως ταύτης και περί οίκων βασιλέως Ιούδα των καθηρημένων εις χάρακα και προμαχώνας 5to hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you early in the morning ”
