“ Þanne he comaundide to his disciplis, þat þei shulden seie to no man, þat he was Crist. Fro þat tyme Jhesus bygan for to shewe to his disciplis, þat it byhouiþ hym to go to Jerusalem, and suffre many þingus of þe eldris, and scribis, and princis of prestis; and be sleyn, and þe þridde day ryse vp aȝein. And Petre, takynge hym to, began for to blame hym, seyinge, Fer be it fro þee, Lord; þis þing shal not be to þee. Þe whiche, turnyd, seide to Petre, Saþanas, go after me; þou art sclaundre to me; for þou sauerist nat, or vndirstondist nat, þo þingis þat ben of God, but þo þingis þat ben of men. ”
